Nagaland: Health camp conducted in Kezoma Bawe Village

Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, along with District Health Society under Health and Family Welfare department conducted a health camp at Kezoma Bawe Village Council hall on November 21.

A short function was organised chaired by Dr. Vekholu Venyo, medical officer of Kezocha PHC. The programme began with a prayer said by Kwecho Zhale, pastor of Revival Church, an update from the CMO’s office stated.

The chairman of Kezoma Bawe Village Council, Kikrosa Naki, has thanked CMO team for conducting health camp in their village, while Dobashi, Kehodel Tase, shared the words of appreciation and urged the community to avail every service provided in the health camp.

The CMO of Kohima, Dr. Tumchobeni, urged the gathering to avail all the services and also take part in various group discussions for a healthy life style and to practice for better health seeking behavior. She also expected that the villagers would derived maximum profit from the health camp.

Dr. Tumchobeni also reminded the responsibilities of each and everyone in bringing about health awareness to uplift the health of the society in general and for contribution of the individual in particular. She also mentioned about the target group where children and pregnant mothers are given priority.

She also urged the village health committee to take initiative on village health and nutrition day (VHND) and to channelise visit of medical officer to the village round the clock. She added that health camps are platforms for people to avail the service provided by the department of Health and Family Welfare. She, therefore, called upon the community to participate such activities to bring about sustainable healthcare services.

Report stated that altogether, 150 persons turnout to avail health services at the health camp. The CMO of Kohima along with all programme officers, ENT, Obs and gnyaegologist, eye specialist from Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima, DPMU, BPMU Jakhama block, SMO in-charge of Viswema CHC team, and MO in-charge of Kezocha PHC team conducted the health camp.
