Dimapur, Nov. 9 (EMN): Nagaland has a total of 1283749 electors comprising 645168 male and 638581 female. Additionally, there are 7965 service electors comprising 7857 male and 108 female.
This was contained in the draft photo electoral roll which was published for all the 60 assembly constituencies in Nagaland by the respective electoral registration officer (See box).
The number of electors as per the draft roll, 2023 is as per the table below:-
According to an update from the Election department, the Electors-Population (EP) ratio of the state was 532 and gender ratio stands at 1000 males:1002 females as per the published draft roll.
The period for filing claims and objections would be from November 9 to December 8. It added that special camps would be held in all the polling stations on November 18 and 19 and for receiving claims and objections would be held on December 2 and 3.
It informed that citizens could also file claims and objections with the concerned booth level officer (BLO) or with the AERO and ERO. It added that forms are available for download in ECI and CEO’s website. Applications could also be filed/ submitted online through www.nvsp.in and voterportal.eci.gov.in (links are provided in the ECI and CEO’s website) or mobile app – VHA (voter helpline app) which is available for download in Google play store and Apple app store, it informed.
On the day of the draft publication, the CEO Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, inspected the draft electoral roll at polling stations No. 17 located at Officers Hill under 8-Western Angami AC and held interaction with BLO and leaders of the polling area. He emphasised on the need of an error-free electoral rolls for conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections in the state.
He also encouraged the citizens to check the draft electoral rolls and file their claims/ objections in the relevant forms within the scheduled period.
He was accompanied by additional CEO, Ruokuovituo Khezhie, and Joint CEO, Awa Lorin during his visit.
