DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, has urged the people to embrace diversity that defines them and find unity in the shared traditions as they embark on the inspiring journey of cultural exploration and celebration.
The governor stated this during the inauguration of the 19th Shilpgram Mahotsav 2024 at Guwahati as the chief guest, which was organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) on Wednesday. The governor, who is also the chairman NEZCC, said that the majestic event not only celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the northeast region of India but also reflects the significance of preserving and promoting our diverse traditions and art forms, stated an update from Raj Bhavan.
He stressed on the necessity to recognise the pivotal role played by NEZCC in nurturing and preserving the cultural heritage. He also mentioned that the tireless efforts of the organisers, the enthusiastic participation of the performers and the support of all the stakeholders are all instrumental in ensuring the success of the festival year after year.
The governor commended the dedication and commitment of the entire team behind the Shilpgram Mahotsav 2024. He also lauded their relentless pursuit of excellence that has made the event a beacon of cultural expression and a testament to the enduring spirit of traditions.
He further expressed gratitude to the NEZCC for their unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage.
Marking the Shilpgram Mahotsav 2024, a choreographic presentation of fold dances titled “Colours of India” was displayed by ZCCs.
The celebration would conclude on January 21.
