Nagaland Football Association football fixture for Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games

Kohima, July 12 (EMN): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has come up with the group fixture for the upcoming 2nd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022.
The fixture was drawn during the annual general meeting of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) along with the representatives of district football associations at NOA office in Kohima on Tuesday.
NFA president, K Neibu Sekhose, informed that the football competition will begin on August 17, a week ahead of the main events which will kick start from August 22. Sekhose said the football matches will be played on league-cum- knock out basis.
Tuesday’s meeting also deliberated on the by-laws for the upcoming tournament.
The house further resolved that the upcoming Nagaland Futsal Championship 2022 will be hosted by Kohima from the month of September where all the districts will send a club each to represent the district.
Meanwhile, the NFA announced that Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) will host the next edition of Dr T Ao Inter District Football Trophy 2023.
The president in a presentation also mentioned that State League 2023 and senior women football championship 2023 are also in the pipeline.
Mentioned be made that Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games is scheduled to be held from 22nd to 27th August in Kohima and Dimapur.
It may be mentioned that Dimapur district is the defending champions and Phek the runner’s up in the first edition.

Group A: Dimapur, Wokha, Zunheboto and Peren
Group B: Shamator, Tuensang, Mon and Kohima
Group C: Tseminyu, Kiphire, Noklak and Mokokchung
Group D: Phek, Chümoukedima, Longleng and Niuland.
