DIMAPUR — The fourth edition of Spar Wars organised by The Combat Academy in collaboration with the Dimapur Wushu Association was held at Ground Zero, The Combat Academy in Sovima, Chümoukedima, on Friday, with three fighters winning the title in the respective categories they competed in.

Mankho Konyak from Mon won the first place in the under 55 kg weight category, while Lichonthung Odyuo from Wokha won in under 65 kg category and Neichulie Kuotsu from Kohima stood first in above 70 kg, updated The Combat Academy manager on Friday.

‘The idea of Spar Wars is to create an environment where young athletes can compete safely and get financial reward for their skills in a small way. We had food stalls that added to the vibe where young fans could watch the fights with their friends and have a good time,’ Khriemelie Metha, founder of The Combat Academy, was quoted as saying.

Fighters from various districts of Nagaland and from Meghalaya participated in the tournament in three weight categories. Cash prizes were given away to the first, second and third place winners.
