Nagaland: Dhansiripar GBs’ Union appeals to resolve issues
DIMAPUR — The GBs’ Union of Dhansiripar sub-division has appealed to the government to initiate resolution on the issues listed and submitted by joint coordination committee of villages following the meeting with the chief minister on May 17, 2022, and follow-up meeting convened by Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) and Chakhro Public Organisation (CPO) on June 11, 2022, at the residence of WSH president, Shikaho Zhimomi, which led to the calling off the agitation launched against the merger of Dhansiripar sub-division and Aqahuto area with the newly created district of Chümoukedima.
“The issues of recognition of un-recognised villages under Aqahuto area and boundary settlement, separate recognition of Dimasa Kachari as a distinct tribe instead of Kachari tribe besides other issues listed in a letter submitted to the chief minister through the principal secretary of the CMO, which need to be resolved once and for all,” the union president, Dohoi Sema, and the general secretary, Dejiraj Girisa said.
It further expressed gratitude to the government for committing to make Chümoukedima a model district of development, peace, and prosperity and affirmed its support to the government in realising the dream and wishes of the Nagas.
