Nagaland Covid-19 update: 57 fresh cases detected; tally at 1087

Dimapur, July 22 (EMN): Fifty-seven more positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported on July 22, Wednesday, taking the total tally of the state to 1087.

This was informed by the Minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Wednesday morning.

“Out of 513 samples tested, 57 positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. 23 in Dimapur, 18 in Kohima, 7 in Zunheboto, 5 in Peren & 2 each in Mon & Mokokchung,” the minister tweeted.

Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 485 patients as ‘recovered’ with 602 active cases in the state and no death till date.

It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.

The state breached the 1000-mark positive cases on July 20 as 33 more Covid-19 positive cases were reported, taking the tally to 1021 on July 20.

As of July 22, Dimapur has the highest cases among the districts with 270 active cases, followed by Kohima with 109 active cases; Peren has 95 active cases; Mon has 91 cases; Tuensang has 10 cases; Phek has eight cases, while Mokokchung has seven cases, Longleng and Zunheboto has three cases respectively and Wokha has one case.

According to the severity of the symptoms, out of the 602 active cases, 598 cases are asymptomatic while there are two mild cases, one moderate case and one critical case (on ventilator).
