Nagaland Congress congratulates Karnataka CM, Dy CM; says ‘change can happen’
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Saturday congratulated Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, who is also the president of the party in the state, after being sworn in to their respective posts.
NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir, in a press release, stated that the works of the two leaders “have inspired us to dream more, learn more, do more and become more”.
“We have witnessed a positive change which I believe will kick off a chain reaction to work towards the change we need,” he said while lauding the Congress central leadership, newly elected members of Karnataka Assembly, party workers and supporters for elevating the party.
“Today, as the Congress flag proudly paints the sky all over Karnataka, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight that when affirmative vision is co-created with the aspirations of the people, change can happen,” said Jamir, who was also in Bengaluru.

Claiming that the Congress is a party that ‘took up the challenge to rebuilt India after Independence to a united and progressive nation and refuses to give up upon facing any hurdle’, he urged the people “to take this thumping victory at Karnataka as the beginning of the ‘New India’ we envision, and that change is driven by everyday people like you and I”.
“The people of Karnataka have shown that they will no longer accept governance on the narratives of divisional politics and corruption. When every strata of society comes together there is nothing that cannot be achieved,” he added.
He went on to ask if the Nagas “could take a page of learning from the Karnataka chapter”.
While urging to contemplate the narrative one champions, he said: “Sooner or later, we realise the pen is mightier in the hand of the masses than the chosen few.”
