Nagaland Chess Association to organise Blitz tournament on July 11

Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) is organising a Blitz tournament along with the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad Torch Relay on July 11 with Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs and President of NCA as the chief guest.

In an update, NCA stated that there will be cash prizes for open, under 18 years and 14 years categories. All the chess players, parents, chess enthusiasts and chess lovers have been invited to witness the relay.

It may be mentioned that the inaugural launch of the Chess Olympiad Torch Relay began at the IG Stadium, New Delhi on June 19. The torch will reach the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow Kohima on July 11 where a function will be held from 7 am to 8 am.

The torch will travel to 75 iconic locations selected in consultation with The Ministry of Culture across the country and reach Chennai on July 28. The 44th edition of the Chess Olympiad has been awarded by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and is being held at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu from July 28 to August 10.
