Kohima, Oct. 31 (EMN): The Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) held its 12th general conference on October 29 at Baptist Theological College square, T Chikri, Pfutsero, on the theme ‘Celebrating the elegance of womanhood.’

The conference was graced by Vahine Thisa, director, Treasuries & Accounts, and Avelu Ruho, joint secretary, School Education, as the inaugural guest and cultural guest respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Thisa said that an elegant woman is someone who possesses good character and lives a refined life.

“She is someone who can break through the huddles of life and shoulder her responsibilities with confidence,” Thisa said and stressed on the qualities of love and patience, which leads to women being peace makers in the families and society.

Ruho also said women have extraordinary strength and resilience which is God’s design.

She said good parenting is of utmost importance to have better children and better society.

Appealing women to develop positive attitude, she said women can be change- makers as mother and women leader.

Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president, Vezuhu Keyho, also shared greetings.

CMA president, Zhonelu Tunyi, informed that CMA had taken the lead during the worst situation of Covid- 19 pandemic by touring all the Chakhesang areas to oversee the quarantine centers for a common cause for survival and humanity and had managed the Common Quarantine Centre at Pfuseto Town for 47 days.

Thanking each and every individual for extending their support towards CMA activities during the tenure 2018-2022, she said, “As we look forward to see the CMA as a refine women’s association, I earnestly seek for the same constant support even in future.”

CMA general secretary, Kezevinuo Krome, highlighted activities of CMA from 2018- 2022.

The conference also witnessed folk song competition.

Meanwhile, Zhonelu Tunyi and Kezevinuo Krome have been re-elected as president and general secretary respectively for the tenure 2022- 2025.
