Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Several districts in Nagaland celebrated Ayushman Bharat Diwas on September 23. The day was celebrated to mark the 4th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY) and one year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
AB-PMJAY is a government of India flagship health insurance scheme to ensure no one suffers financial hardships or impoverishment due to medical expenditure for hospitalisations or are unable to access medical care on account of unaffordability. It also aimed at accelerating India’s progress towards universal health coverage and provides health insurance coverage to over 10 crore families in India and 2.33 lakh families in Nagaland.
Dimapur: The celebration in Dimapur was held in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, wherein the district coordinator, R Nokchalemba, informed that AB-PMJAY is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government. He stated that it provides free treatment up to INR 5 lakh per family per year with no cap to family size and age.
He stated that the scheme currently covers around 1664 treatment packages which included treatment from child delivery to cancer treatment. It covers up to three days of pre-hospitalisation and 15 days post-hospitalisation expenses. He, however, stated that OPD services are not covered except in few treatment packages like day care dialysis, chemotherapy session etc, stated an update from CMO’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, stated that there were many challenges faced during the initial phase of launching the scheme. Stating that the scheme is a people-friendly scheme, he urged the people to get the most benefit.
During the programme, R Nokchalemba and Thangkholun, BIS operator, were awarded with the district-level best performing staff and highest E-card generation in the district respectively.
Limabenla, a recovered dialysis patient, shared her testimony on how AB-PMJAY helped her financially during her treatment.
Kohima: Under the aegis of National Health Mission (NHM), Kohima district celebrated Ayushman Bharat Diwas in the conference hall of the CMO’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy CMO of Kohima, Dr. Imchatoshi, gave talk on health awareness specifically on Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The special guest and deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, stated that AB-PMJAY programme is the best scheme for the under privileged group in reaching the health services by availing cashless benefits. He called upon the Medical department to create awareness and disseminate information to generate demand.
A beneficiary testimony was shared by Thekruyie Pienu from Nerhema village, while Zunietso Khamo from NHAK was awarded for the best performing PMAMS.
Mokokchung: Ayushman Bharat Diwas in Mokokchung was celebrated in the conference hall of the CMO’s office, wherein the nodal officer of AB-PMJAY at IMDH, Dr. Sentirenla R Jamir, highlighted its key features, eligibility criteria, requisite KYC documents for generating AB-PMJAY e-card, ABDM, eligibility criteria and benefits of ABHA health ID.
The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Shanshak Pratap Singh, mentioned on the benefits of AB-PMJAY which has covered almost 50% of the population of India. He urged for wide publicity of the AB-PMJAY scheme and congratulated the awardees for their performance.
Repalepla from Ungma village testified on how AB-PMJAY scheme had benefited her.
Merangba, PMAM, CHC Changtongya, and Limatenzük, district coordinator of AB-PMJAY, were awarded for highest e-Card generation in the district and best performing staff respectively.
Phek: Ayushman Bharat Diwas in Phek district was celebrated at Dr. Wethselo T Mero Memorial Hall of the District Hospital, Phek, with Tsenthungo E Nhullie, SDO (Civil) of Phek, as the special guest.
The CMO of Phek, Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino, has highlighted the registration status and e-Card generation in the district till date. He also shared the benefits, facilities etc available under PMJAY scheme. He also briefly highlights on Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMIS) to the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Tsenthungo E Ngullie has acknowledged the Medical department for successful implementation of the scheme led by the CMO and deputy CMO of Phek.
He also encouraged the stakeholders to create awareness in their respective colonies on the benefits of PMJAY scheme so that every eligible beneficiary could avail the scheme.
Khruvotso, a beneficiary of PMJAY, has testified on how he was benefitted through PMJAY scheme for his surgery and also in the recent serious illness.
Awards were given to Khruvozo for generating the highest e-card in the district during Aapke Dwar Ayushman campaign and Vetsuyo Vero for the best performing staff.
Kiphire: Kiphire district celebrated the Ayushman Bharat Diwas in the conference hall of the District Hospital, Kiphire, organised by District Implementation Unit with the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, T Wati Aier, as the special guest.
Wati Aier has lauded the medical personnel for their noble deeds and urged to continue their good work with sincerity. He also he conveyed appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and staff for their tireless efforts rendered during the peak of the COVID pandemic.
The deputy CMO of Kiphire, Dr. Kolhitso Khalo informed that AB PM-JAY scheme is a people healthcare scheme to benefits the underprivileged and low income group. He also briefed about the process of availing the benefits and the required documents.
Yangkhumse, an Ayushman Bharat beneficiary, has shared testimony on how he was benefited from the scheme.
Venrity, Ayushman Mitra, was awarded for generating the highest e-card in the district, while Yangtsapila, AB-PMJAY district coordinator, was awarded for the best performing staff.
Tuensang: District Health Society (DHS) in Tuensang celebrated Ayushman Bharat Diwas in the conference hall of the CMO’s office with the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, as the special guest.
In his speech, Kumar said, “We can live long only when we have good health.” Stating that the scheme targeted mainly the below poverty line families, he encouraged the department officials to disseminate information to the last mile for achieving more beneficiaries.
The keynote address on AB PM-JAY and ABAM was presented by Dr. Senilo Magh. The best performing AB PM-JAY was given to Nayang Shanglee from House of Hope, PHC Longpang.
Zunheboto: The Ayushman Bharat Diwas in Zunheboto was celebrated in the office of the CMO in Zunheboto town in the presence of the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, as the special guest.
The welcome address and keynote address on AB PM-JAY was delivered by Vibo P Jekha, district coordinator.
Award for the highest E-cards generation in the district during Aapke Dwar Ayushman campaign and the best performing staff were given away during the programme.
COVID-19 vaccination poster campaign was also launched by the deputy commissioner during the event and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the CMO of Zunheboto, Dr. Zathung Lotha.
