Nagaland: ATMA Longleng conducts demonstration programme

Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Longleng block, conducted a demonstration programme on ‘Package and practices of cabbage and carrot’ on October 31 at Chingshang village, Nian, Longleng, with Aienla Jamir, block technology manager, as the resource person.

An update informed that Aienla Jamir emphasised on the importance of growing cabbage and carrot as a potential remunerative enterprise, and gave the participants method demonstration on the package and practices of cabbage and carrot.

She further stressed on the importance of nursery seed-bed preparation before transplanting to the main field.

“Choosing disease-tolerant seeds, checking pest infestations by biological and mechanical methods before any chemical application, and timely weeding were suggested during the demonstration,” it stated. Various constraints faced by the farmers on growing cabbage and carrot were also discussed.
