The House will then pass the budget on March 25, the last day of the session.
This will be the first budget session after the formation of United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Only one nomination for Dy. Speaker
Meanwhile, Independent MLA Yangseo Sangtam is set to become the deputy speaker of NLA as he is the lone candidate to file for the post when nomination closed.
With no other candidates in the fray, the first-time legislator who won the 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency (AC) bye-election in 2020, will be elected Deputy Speaker of NLA uncontested today.
Sangtam’s candidature was proposed by legislator KT Sukhalu and seconded by MLA H Haying.
