The landslide, which happened on Tuesday night, also damaged multiple vehicles parked along the stretch of Pherima hotels while a house was also said to have been washed away in the mudslide.

The stretch of road from Pakala Pahar to Kohima continues to face landslide and rockslide this year due to rain, causing inconvenience to the travellers.

The DCP updated that the right side of the crucial road connecting Dimapur and Kohima, along the Pakala Pahar stretch has been completely cut off along with a portion of the lane divider around 1:30 am on Wednesday.

Another massive landslide was reported at Tsurii the (stream) boundary between Tsiepama and Piphema, completely washing the road  away, updated the DCP, adding that two to three spots from Pakala Pahar to Piphema stretch are vulnerable if the rainfall continues and will exacerbate the already existing damages to the road.

More details are awaited as the Dimapur Traffic police personnel and Dimapur Police, along with the Medziphema police personnel and the SDRF team are at work.
