Naga Students’ Federation lauds government for age relaxation to public services

Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has thanked the government of Nagaland led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for relaxing the age limit for entry into government services by two years and having the political will to ensure that the aspirations of the Naga youth and student community.

‘It has been the long-standing demand of the federation, after having felt the pulse of the aspirants that the policy for age relaxation needed to be put in place, due to the prolonged banned in the recruitment to certain government jobs positions,’ read the press release.

“With the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) well in placed, the federation is hopeful that all opposing forces will listen and heed to the grievances of the aspirants and ensure that no further impediments are created in the way of implementing the NSSB in the state,” it added.

The NSF also appealed to rectify the lacuna within the NSSB and not hinder the youth from getting recruited through open, free and fair examination.

“The federation would like to assure the state government of our fullest support in the implementation of the NSSB policy as it is in the interest of the student and youth community in the state of Nagaland. It is, therefore, appealed of the state government to ensure that the process for recruitment to various posts falling within the purview of NSSB be initiated without further delay. Failure to do so, the federation shall be compelled to take befitting actions in the interest of the deprived aspirants,” it stated.
