Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V Nagi has welcomed the resolutions adopted during the celebration of 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland on November 19 and 20 at Kohima.
“This is truly a historic and blessed celebration of Christianity (1872-2022) in Nagaland,” a press release issued by NNC stated on Thursday.
NNC has the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) for organising the historic mega event in the interest of all the Christians in the homeland and Christians at large.
“We fully support the resolutions especially No. 9 and 10 which stated “to stand firm and be true to the commitment as responsible citizens of the land and as agents playing a proactive role on issues of Christian social responsibility. And to work for greater unity and better understanding among various pursuits and conflicts that divide and damage the historical harmony of the Nagas. To this end, the NBCC affirm their shared oneness and resolved to stand in the gap in their collective search for political solution that is non-violent, just and honourable.”
NNC (PB) felt that it is a dutiful Christian-led responsibility and stand for the Naga people and the Naga National workers in particular at this urgent time.
NNC (PB) urged the NBCC to implement the above mentioned resolutions in the best interest of the homeland and all concerned people. It expressed hope that God would help NBCC to fulfill its commitments for the glory of God.
