Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): The first batch of 25 entrepreneurs from Nagaland are attending the five-day intensive export-oriented training, which began on March 21 at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in Kolkata.

The training is being facilitated through the Export Facilitation Cell (EFC) of the IIFT Kohima, which was launched by Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, on November 17, 2021.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of IIFT vice chancellor, Prof. Manoj Pant, and the CEO of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Alemtemshi Jamir, a DIPR report stated.

The entrepreneurs would visit the Sea port at Kolkata and customs offices besides their classroom sessions to get first-hand experience on export oriented activities.

The EFC was set up at the IDAN and is the first of its kind in the entire North Eastern region, sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC), in collaboration with the IDAN, to facilitate and handhold local entrepreneurs looking at exports as a business opportunity.
