Naga Council Dimapur condemns murder of Theology student
DIMAPUR — The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) condemned the brutal murder of the late Nonghuvi K Sumi, a Bachelor of Theology final-year student, whose body was recovered from the Walford area in Dimapur on November 3.
NCD, while condemning the “heinous act,” appreciated the efficiency of the Dimapur police in a press statement.
It lauded the fact that, in a short time, the police had detected and arrested the accused, Nanaw Meitram of Saton village, Bishnupur district, Manipur.
Further stating that, in recent times, women—an important section of society—have been mercilessly murdered, which is extremely disturbing to the peace-loving citizens of Dimapur, the NCD appealed that the arrested person(s) involved in the murder be awarded a befitting punishment, even unto death.
