NAAC peer team visits Tetso College for assessment
DIMAPUR — The third cycle of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team visit for Tetso College was conducted on November 20 and 21.
An update from the college stated that the NAAC peer team comprised Prof. Shrivardhan Pathak (chairperson) from DDU Gorakhpur University, Uttar Pradesh; Prof. Pushpinder Singh Gill (member coordinator), dean at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab; and Dr. Muhamed Ilyas (member), principal of Sullamussalam Science College, Kerala.
The two-day visit evaluated the college’s academic framework, governance, infrastructure, and extracurricular initiatives.
The agenda included presentations by the principal, Dr. Hewasa L Khing, and the IQAC coordinator, Dr. Anjan K. Behera. It also featured departmental interactions, campus tours, a cultural programme, and discussions with various stakeholders, including students, faculty and staff, alumni, parents, and members of the governing board.
Day 1 featured departmental presentations, stakeholder interactions, and a campus tour. The department of Linguistics also released an eBook titled ‘Words and Beyond: A Multidisciplinary Exploration of Northeastern Indian Languages’. Additionally, the NAAC peer team members engaged with parents, alumni, staff, and students.
Day 2 activities included a tour of the Tenyiphe campus and a discussion with the principal and the IQAC coordinator. As part of the visit, the peer team reviewed documentation to ensure a thorough and transparent evaluation process. The visit concluded with an exit meeting, during which the chairperson of the NAAC peer team, Prof. Shrivardhan Pathak, addressed the staff of Tetso College.
