MTSU inter-school football tournament underway

DIMAPUR — The 8th edition of Inter-School Football Tournament, a biannual tournament organised by the Medziphema Town Students’ Union (MTSU), kick started at Medziphema local ground, Chümoukedima district, on Monday.

A total of ten teams are taking part in the tournament, held on the theme ‘Unity makes victory,’ divided into two categories: high school and higher secondary, an update stated.

In the first match, defending champions GHSS Medziphema decimated Rivenburgh School 7-0. Letboison scored a hat trick while Hengtinthang, Lhousakhoto, Kevineito and Suresh contributed a goal each for GHSS Medziphema.

In the second match, SFS High School defeated the Chakhroma Baptist Mission School with 3-0. Kikruneilie Kera (two goals) and Paogouhao scored for SFS School.

Earlier, Selemla S Sangtam, SDO Medziphema, was the special guest for the opening ceremony.
