DIMAPUR — The Mao Students’ Union Kohima (MSUK), in collaboration with the Ashikho Daili Trust Award for Academic Excellence (ADTAEE), organised its annual freshers’ day-cum-felicitation programme at Model Hr. Sec. School, Kohima, on Saturday.
The programme was attended by president of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Medovi Rhi as the special guest, and Dr. Lovika P Shikhu, asst. professor, Dept. of Psychology, Nagaland University, as the guest speaker, an update from MSUK stated.
Medovi shared words of encouragement for the freshers and the Mao student community, and challenged them to achieve even greater heights in the future.
The event commenced with an opening prayer by George Arche, associate pastor (youth), MBCK, followed by the presidential address from Marükho Pfozhe, president MSUK.
Ashikho Daili, patron of ADTAAE, handed over the award money along with a citation to Pikuni Pauline, rank 10, HSLC, NBSE. She is the 18th recipient of the award since its inception in 2005.
SP Francis, board member of ADTAAE and managing director of Model Hr. Sec. School, highlighted the details of the award.
The event featured short speeches from HSLC rank holder Pikuni Pauline; Hriidziio Khrasi on behalf of freshers; H Dihe Mao, president of Mao Union Kohima and Pfokrehrii Matekho Pekosii, president of Mao Students’ Union.
During the event, Robvii Khrasi, pastor, MBCK said a special prayer for the freshers and student community.
In the second session, Manikho and Hriiyia were adjudged Mr and Miss freshers, respectively.
The second session also featured a special career talk by Dr. Lovika P Shikhu.
The ADTAAE is an annual award given to NBSE HSLC rank holders from the Mao community. The trust fund has also decided to award rank holders from Board of School Education Manipur (BSEM).
