The recent concluded Urban Local Bodies elections in Nagaland have exposed the rampant corruption and moral decay that plague our society. It is disheartening to see influential tribal organisations betraying their own people for personal gain, civil leaders resorting to deceitful tactics, and members of society succumbing on to the temptation of money in exchange for votes.

The actions of these individuals are shameful and must be condemned. Tribal leaders, who were once revered as pioneers and leaders, have abandoned their principles and played favorites based on tribal affiliations.

Civil leaders, who were entrusted with upholding fairness and justice, have resorted to proxy voting and other deceitful tactics. Their lack of integrity and loyalty to the community they claim to serve is disgraceful and they must be identified and shunned for their actions.

It is also disheartening to see young and old members of society trading their principles for financial gain. The youth, who are meant to be the future of our nation, shamelessly accepted money in exchange for votes, while the older generation tarnished their legacy by selling themselves to the highest bidder.

It is clear that Nagaland is in a dire situation and true change seems out of reach. It is crucial that the people of Nagaland break free from the chains of corruption and moral decay and strive towards a future defined by progress and integrity. Only then can we move away from a society plagued by greed and betrayal.
