Wokha-Mokokchung road closure due to a major mudslide
Dimapur, Oct. 14 (EMN): The Wokha-Mokokchung road along the National Highway-2 (NH-2) will remain closed for movement of vehicles from 7 am to 2 pm on Sunday, October 16, to clear the mud and rock debris caused by a major mudslide.
The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, announced this in a traffic advisory on Friday.
It informed that a major mudslide caused by the incessant rain had led to “road blockade at Wokha village location 80+300 km to 80+400 km in Wokha district”.
“Therefore, all medium and light vehicle travelers on Mokokchung-Wokha-Kohima route are advised to use diversion route Alichen-Mangmetong-Doyang Reservoir-Wokha `0′ point during the said closure period,” read the traffic advisory.
