Mortal remains of Nagaland legislator Toshi Wungtung reach Shamator
Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): The mortal remains of Nagaland legislator and Advisor, Toshi Wungtung reached his hometown Shamator on Saturday.
Advisor of Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha; MLA and Advisor of DUDA, Bongkhao; MLA and DP&DB Chairman Kiphire, Yangseo; and MLA H Chuba Chang accompanied the dead body, informed DIPR.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, Yhokha said Wungtung’s demise was not only a great loss to Yimchungrüs and Eastern Naga People’s Organisation (ENPO) but also to all Nagas. He also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and to the people of Yimchungrü.
Konyak shared his close association with Wungtung, who he addressed as “kokai” (elder brother), and said that his leadership qualities were incomparable.
Yangseo also spoke at the event, informed the update.
Earlier, the reception prayer was pronounced by Rev. Thsankiu at helipad and welcome home prayer by Dr. S.J. Akhum ES. YBBA, it added.
The funeral service of the legislator will be held at the Public ground Shamator at 11 am on Sunday before the body is taken to Sanghur village for the final rites.
