More than 14.61 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered in Nagaland so far

Kohima, Jan. 28 (EMN): Nagaland state has administered 1,461,579 (14.61 lakh) doses of Covid-19 vaccines as on January 27, according to the Health department’s update.

Of the total doses administered, 1,406,853 were Covishield and Sputnik-V, while 10,897 were precautionary doses and 43,829 were covaxin for 15 to 18 years age group.

As many as 2241 healthcare workers, 7644 frontline workers and 1012 in the age group of 60+ with comorbidities have received the precautionary dose so far.

In the category of 15 to 18 years, district-wise vaccination percentage stands at 57.67% in Dimapur, Kohima-40.55%, Kiphire-19.08%, Mokokchung- 28.94%, Mon-26.42%, Peren-19.54%, Phek-14.93%, Longleng- 41.22%, Tuensang- 17.81%, Wokha- 16.34%, and Zunheboto- 17.51%.

The Health department further informed that 43829 doses have been vaccinated for this age group till date against the target of 142008.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who had taken the ‘precautionary dose’ on the occasion of Republic Day, had appealed to the people of the state to come forward and get the booster dose, saying that vaccination is the only preventive measure in the fight against Covid-19.
