More condolences pour in for former Nagaland minister YM Yollow Konyak

Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): Several organisations and individuals have condoled the demise of former minister, YM Yollow Konyak, who passed away on March 22 in Delhi after a prolonged illness, and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.

Konyak Union: The union expressed grief over the untimely demise of the former minister, saying that “he was yet to contribute more to the Konyak society and the Nagas at large”.

Describing the deceased a “bold, honest, and selfless leader,” it said ‘his contributions to the welfare of the people, especially the Konyak community, were immense, and his legacy will continue to live on’.

‘The KU sends our prayer and deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members during this difficult time. We hope that you find the strength to cope whit this loss, and may the departed soul rest in peace,’ read the condolence message.

NGBF: Describing Yollow as a man of strong personality and down-to-earth leader, the Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation (NGBF) said Nagas have lost a leader whose absence will be deeply felt. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

DENSU: Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (DENSU) termed the death of the former minister as a great loss to the eastern family, saying that he had contributed his best for the people in the region in particular and the Nagas in general. It also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

TR Zeliang: Nagaland Deputy CM said that Yollow Konyak was a ‘man of true grit and courage who stood firm and decisive in his ways… a true gentleman who had a deep concern for the welfare of the public and earnestly strived towards it in whatever capacity he could.’

Zeliang said that in Yollow’s demise, the people of Wakching and Konyaks in particular and Nagas in general, have lost a great soul.

Chingwang Konyak: President of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Chingwang Konyak, said in his condolence message the demise of the former minister is a great loss to not only the Konyak tribe but also the Nagas as a whole. “His role and contributions as a public leader and legislator shall be fondly remembered and cherished,” he said while conveying condolences to the members of the bereaved family on behalf of the NDPP.

KG Kenye: The minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs described Yollow as a trustworthy and dedicated public leader, who had made immense contributions towards the welfare of the people in various capacities.

Nagas have lost a tall leader and a prominent ex-parliamentarian, he said while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members.
