Mokokchung DPDB resolves to buy land for power house
Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): For development and upgradation of the existing power house in Mokokchung town, the Mokokchung district planning and development board (DPDB) has resolved to purchase the land at Salangtem ward, the present location of power house, from the landowner and subsequently decided to approach the concerned department to take necessary steps.
The resolution to this effect was taken during its monthly meeting held at district planning hall, Mokokchung, on June 24 under the chairmanship of the PWD (Mechanical & Housing), Tongpang Ozukum, a DIPR report stated.
On the Covid-19 status in the district, the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, Dr. Chubala Aier highlighted the updated Covid-19 reports and requirements for Mokokchung district health facilities. She has stressed on the need to update the primary health centres (PHCs) in the district starting from District Covid Hospital.
In this regard, the house agreed to maintain two power generators in the District Hospital and also provide at least one oxy-metre to every village.
The house also resolved to deduct 10% amount from LADP fund as per the directive of the government and hand over the amount to Covid district task force for Covid expenses in the district.
On the issue of dismantling the present Law College building at Mokokchung and shifting to an alternative location, the house decided to complete the shifting at the earliest. It also resolved to complete the ongoing development of the new DCs office.
Issue relating to MMC dumping site was thoroughly discussed, wherein the house agreed to upgrade and develop the site and also to approach the land owners for the outright purchase of the land.
Speaking at the meeting, the chairman put forward a proposal for construction of Mokokchung town ring road to bypass the main town in view of the growing development activities and to ease traffic congestion.
The chairman also appreciated the Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA) and Mokokchung Town Ao Lanur Telongjem for their untiring efforts and contributions in the fight against the pandemic.
