Mokokchung District Football Association Trophy rescheduled to October
MOKOKCHUNG — The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) on Friday informed all football enthusiasts, clubs, and supporters that the annual MDFA Trophy 2023, which was slated to kick off on September 19, has been rescheduled.
The tournament will now be held from October 17 to November 3.
The MDFA informed that it decided to postpone the sporting event after the Dr. T. Ao Trophy, which was initially scheduled for October 2023, was rescheduled to February 2024. It added that the decision was taken to enable football enthusiasts to participate in both the prestigious tournaments
The association further said that holding the MDFA Trophy in October has an advantage in terms of weather conditions, for both the teams and the spectators.
It also emphasised that the last date for the submission of registration forms and club registration/renewals is September 30, and the forms are available at 3 Kits Photo House, Alongmen Ward, Mokokchung Town.
“We understand the anticipation and excitement surrounding the MDFA Trophy, and we appreciate the understanding and support of the football community. MDFA remains committed to delivering a thrilling and safe tournament in October 2023,” MDFA stated.
