Modern College Kohima organises career guidance seminar
Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Guidance and Counseling Cell Modern College, Kohima on Friday organised a one-day seminar on career guidance with managing director Pelee Hekha, principal Dr. Vitsou Yano and assistant professor Kikatemba Ozukum of the institute as panel speakers.
An update from the college informed that Hekha briefed the students on the NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test), toppers of the exam from the north-eastern states and Nagaland’s standing. He also challenged the students to work harder and focus on achieving at the national-level and not just in the state.
Ozukum sensitized the gathering on the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and various stages of the exam (Mains and advanced). He briefed the students on the new pattern of the exam which will be implemented from 2021, wherein a separate exam on “B. planning” will be conducted which was previously clubbed with the B.Arch. examination.
He also encouraged the students to work hard right from the beginning for good results.
The principal of the college, who spoke on arts and commerce streams, stressed on the importance of decision-making, using talent to determine one’s goal, grabbing the opportunity ahead of oneself, and opting for courses according to one’s interest and talent.
She highlighted different courses one can take up to pursue one’s dream with dedication, passion and conviction. She also emphasised on the importance valuing money.
