The Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel today officially flagged off the Mokokchung town quasquicentennial celebration through “Tour de Hills 3 and Jubilee Adventure Trail” Motor Rally at Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
The event is organized by Adventure and Motorsports Association (AMAM) in collaboration with District Administration, Mokokchung District Sport Council and Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council.
Addressing the motorist here, the Deputy Commissioner proclaimed that it is a historic moment and milestone in the evolution of Mokokchung Town, to celebrate the impeccable journey of the last 125 years. “What better way to do it, if not this motor rally to illustrate the wonderful journey both literally and metaphorically,” he said, adding the rally will be always remember for the times to come by everyone.He also informed that the rally will touched all the administrative subdivision of Mokokchung district taking a message of brotherhood and the celebration unfolding in the town to all the people in the district.
The rally comprises of two segment—competitive (TSD format) and non-competitive. Altogether 20 motorist from in and outside the districts are participating in the rally. The two-day rally will cover a total of approximately 300 km covering around 45 villages and touching all the 10 administrative blocks of the district.
The participants and the touring party will halt a night at Chungtiayimsen village where all participants will pitch their own tents. Besides, there will be a brief formal program followed by entertainment to be presented by MDACC and by DJ Tali, Karaoke and others.
On the next day, the rally will culminate at Imkongmeren Sports Complex before covering another leg of the rally. Along the whole stretch of the route, the convoy of vehicles will extend centenary greetings as well as extend invitation and distribute advertisement materials to all citizens in all the blocks inviting them to the grand celebration to be held at Mokokchung from December 14 to 16.
Moreover, the annual event of AMAM “3rd Mokokchung AutoX” will be held simultaneously on November 6 and 7 at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
The message Patel conveyed to AMAM and rest of the outpost: “Today we have assembled together here for a common purpose. It is to remind ourselves of who we are, the path we travelled, the milestones we had crossed and the way that lies ahead of us. Every inch covered remind us of how strong we have become and what strength we need to continue the journey and to continue “Pioneering Ahead”.
“What can be more befitting than this rally to introspect and pat ourselves on the back as we are celebrating the completion of 125 years of Mokokchung Town this year”, he said while adding that as the riders pass through the length and breadth of our Mokokchung District it reminds that the celebration is inclusive and belongs to each and every citizen of our district.
Endorsing AMAM for organizing ‘such great events’ for the benefit of the district, Patel said it will be camaraderie and bonhomie be the driving fuel that shall keep echoing even after the end.
