Ministry of Railways announces ‘Rail Yatra Vritant Puraskar Yojna’

DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) is organising a competition called “Rail Yatra Vritant Puraskar Yojna” with the aim of gathering experiences related to rail travel from the general public, including railway personnel.

The objective is to use these experiences to enhance railway facilities and promote the use of Hindi, according to an update.

Cash prizes and citations will be awarded to the winners. The first prize is INR 10,000, the second prize is INR 8,000, and the third prize is INR 6,000. Additionally, there are five consolation awards, each carrying a prize of INR 4,000.

The rail travelogue must be in Hindi and original. It should consist of a minimum of 3,000 words and a maximum of 3,500 words. The document should be typed with double spacing and have one-inch margins on all four sides. The total number of words should be mentioned and pages must be numbered.

Name, designation, age, office/residence address, mother tongue, mobile number, email, and total number of words of the story should be listed in capital letters at the beginning of the story on a full sheet of paper.

Officers or employees serving in the central or state government who wish to participate in this scheme must declare that no cases related to vigilance, discipline, or appeal rules are pending or contemplated against them.

Applicants not in government service must declare that they are not involved in any ongoing criminal case and are not subject to any form of punishment.

Apart from this, all the participants have to submit a declaration mentioning that “the related rail travelogue is my original composition; it has not been rewarded under any other award scheme.”

Any Indian citizen willing to participate must submit their entry in duplicate by July 31 to the Assistant Director, Hindi (Training), Room No. 316, COFMOW Railway Office Complex, Tilak Bridge, ITO, New Delhi, 110002. Entries received as a single copy will be rejected.

Entries received after the deadline will not be considered by the ministry.
