DIMAPUR — Modern Higher Secondary School (MHSS) inaugurated its 2nd Annual Sports Meet on November 15 at Modern College, Piphema. Brigadier Shiva Kant Shukla, Commander of 6 Sector Assam Rifles attended the event as the special guest.
According to updates, the programme was presided over by Thejazenuo. Opening the event, Nenia Theresa, Principal of MHSS, extended a warm welcome to all participants and attendees.
The torch, symbolising the spirit of the sports meet, was lit by the special guest. In his address, the Brigadier emphasised the importance of maintaining a youthful mindset, stating that thinking young is key to staying young. He underscored the significance of a harmonious coordination between mind and body for a fulfilling life and encouraged the students to embrace sportsmanship.
The students showcased their athletic prowess with an aerobics performance while a special musical performance was presented by Akuluzo. Kikatemba led the oath-taking ceremony, emphasising the values of fair play and sportsmanship while Lemnyei Konyak, the convener of the sports committee, expressed gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the declaration of the annual sports meet by Brigadier Shukla, the updates stated.
