Medziphema prepares for ‘mera maati mera desh’ campaign

DIMAPUR — A meeting concerning the upcoming ‘mera maati mera desh’ campaign was conducted at the ADC conference hall at Medziphema on Monday. EAC Medziphema Vithawel Kweho presided over the meeting.
The chairman during the meeting outlined the key points of the campaign, which included the dedication of shilaphalakams (erecting memorial plaques to honour bravehearts, preferably near water bodies or amrit sarovars), panch pran pledge and selfie (participants take a pledge holding a fistful of soil and share selfies on the campaign’s website), varudha vandhan (planting 75 indigenous tree saplings in each village to commemorate 75 years of Independence), veeron ka vandhan (felicitation of freedom fighters and their families), and the flag hoisting and rashtragaan (national flag hoisting and singing of the national anthem at each event).
According to a DIPR report, the chairman outlined the sequence of events for each location, which included flag hosting, the unveiling of a memorial plaque, pledge-taking, the felicitation of CAPF personnel and freedom fighters, and the planting of 75 saplings.
The campaign, which is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, commemorating 75 years of independence, aims to honour the nation’s martyred bravehearts. Various departments were assigned roles to ensure the campaign’s success during the meeting, which was attended by heads of offices, village chairmen, and ward chairmen.
