DIMAPUR — Model Christian College, Kohima, hosted its 16th fresher’s meet on Friday on the theme ‘Incandescence.’
The event commenced with an invocation prayer by Liniu Yepthomi, women coordinator of MCCSC, and welcome address by Shembo Achumi, president of MCCSC.
The college vice principal, Mhabemo Odyuo, shared brief history of the college and encouraged the students to embrace opportunities with open minds.
The programme was marked by various performances from the students.
Alise Sangtam and Linokali K Achumi were declared Mister and Miss Fresher’s 2024 respectively, while the sub-titles for best walk were won by Imliakhum and Eloni Amelia, Mr and Ms Congeniality by Jenithung and Tsurila, respectively.
In a related programme, Yingli Government College in Longleng celebrated its freshers’ day on Friday with the EAC of Longleng, Imkongnukla Ao, as the special guest.
In her address, the special guest encouraged the students to identify their goals in life and work hard to achieve success. She also highlighted the importance of inculcating good habits, healthy mindset and fearing God to reach the goals.
Chingmei H Phom and Chuthai L Phom were crowned as Mr. and Ms. Freshers and Henshak O Phom and H Phulei Phom were awarded Mr. and Ms. Creative.
