Wins for Titans ‘A’ and Zungameden

Mokokchung, March 22: The MDt20CF 2nd Master Shield T20 Cricket Tournament played at Imkongmeren Sporting Complex on Wedne
sday saw Titans ‘A’ triumph against Vincent in the first match while Zungameden qualified for the semi-finals to face Titan in an exhilarating match against Trebuchet.
In the first match of the day, Vincent were having the edge to win the match however they were bowled out in 18.5 over and lost by eight runs against Titans ‘A’ .

Electing to bat first the Titan ‘A’ folded for a total of 78 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Nagaho took 3/15 in fours overs, Sunil 2/9 in four overs, Along 2/9 in four over while Aosashi and Among picked one wicket each for Vincent.
Chasing the target, Vincent could only manage only 72 runs with Meren the only batsman to reach the double digit score of 24 runs. The irony was that, with still many balls remaining and only 7 runs needed to win the match, Vincent’s last batman got involved in a 5run-out and lost the match against the Titans ‘A.
Woban gave away 20 runs and took 4 wickets in 3.5 over, Longkum picked 2 wickets and Chubameren and Moakumzuk captured one each for Titans ‘A’.
In the second match, Zungameden and Trebuchet played out perhaps the most exciting match of the tournament so far. In the end, Zungameden settled the match by eight runs win and berth to semis.
Zungameden batting first scored 119/6 in 20 overs with Meyameren and Sosangpong scoring 27 runs each and Bendangwapang 15 runs. Tiakum picked 2/17 in 4 overs and Alotu picked 2 /21 in four overs for Trebuchet in the first inning.7
Chasing the target, Trebuchet were cruising well and looked like they would walk away with the match easily. However, loss of nerve occurred towards the middle of the innings when Romo and Imliakim got out in the 13th and 15th over. Trebuchet were eventually bowled out for 112 in 19.3 overs with scores level.
Romo managed to score 45 runs while Imliakum sc
ored 33 runs for Trebuchet. Bendangwapang picked 2/20 and Funtichiba took 3/20.
