Massive Attack to be named Best Group at SCA

Massive Attack are to be honoured at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards (SCA).
The trip-hop group – Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall – are to be presented with the Royal Albert Hall Best Group Award at the prestigious ceremony which is taking place London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on July 1.
Hozier, Craig David, Jeff Lynne, Jess Glynne and Patti Smith will also be receiving awards on the day as well as Lionel Richie who has been named as the recipient of this year’s Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Award.
Since their astonishing debut album, 1991’s ‘Blue Lines’, Massive attack have blazed a trail as musical pioneers, and they have continued that tradition with this year’s ‘Ritual Spirit’ EP which features collaborations with Tricky, Azekel, Roots Manuva and Young Fathers.
Lucy Noble, Director of Events at The Royal Albert Hall, sponsors of the award, said of the band: The Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards has been running for 41 years honours the achievements of musicians and also raises funds for the Nordoff Robbins charity which practices creative music therapy for children and people with psychological, physical or developmental disabilities.
