Mass social work conducted across Nagaland
DIMAPUR — Following a directive from the state government, which was issued after a Cabinet meeting on October 9, a mass social work was carried out in all parts of Nagaland on Friday. The initiative was aimed at promoting cleanliness and improves public spaces.
Dimapur: In Dimapur, the social work was actively participated by members from district administration, government employees, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), colony and ward chairmen, village council leaders, school and college students, various NGOs and civil society organisations.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, has acknowledged the efforts and contribution of all in clearing the streets, public areas and community spaces, demonstrating a commitment to making Dimapur cleaner despite unfavorable weather condition.
Chümoukedima: In Chümoukedima, the social work was carried out along the National Highway, public areas, planting trees and raising awareness about cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
Local volunteers, department officials and social bodies joined hands in the social work.
Meanwhile, the DC has lauded the efforts of all participants and emphasised the importance of community engagement in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He urged everyone to continue the efforts and work together for fostering a spirit of collective responsibility.
Mass social work: The mass social work in Medziphema was led by officials from the administration, councilors, village councils, ward sanitation committees and GBs. It called for proper maintenance of sanitation, to remove all building materials stacked on the road sides, cleaning NH-29 route under Medziphema jurisdiction and to ensure proper sanitation along the highway.
The advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, along with NDPP party workers also participated in the mass social work by cutting trees that obstructed the streets in Medziphema sub-division.
The mass social work was also conducted in Pfutsero, Kiphire, Phek, Shamator, Niuland, Jakhama, Tizit, Chozuba, Chessore, Tening, Peren, Tuensang, Longkhim, Bhandari, Mon, Zunheboto.
Educational institutions such as ICFAI University Nagaland, Sao Chang College, Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School and Dimapur 24/7 also joined in the social work.
