Maongkaba commits to work for uplift of youth
National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency (AC), S Maongkaba Ozukum, has committed to work for the uplift of youth in order to build a better future as he believe that youth are the hope for the future.
Maongkaba made this commitment during his election campaign at Tongdentsyong Ward and Sungkomen Ward in Mokokchung on February 18. He has highlighted plans and visions for the uplift of youth which included providing coaching classes for aspirants appearing competitive exams, developing sports infrastructure in the areas to facilitate the young talents, skill development and schemes for self-sustenance.
“Youth are the strength of our society. Therefore, to utilise their creative minds, they must have self-sustenance by initiation various programmes,” he asserted.
He pointed out that when the youth are involved in substance abuse, the society is bent to its knees. Therefore in order to mitigate those issues, he has suggested initiating a rehabilitation/ recovery process by collaborating with the churches and other social organisations.
Stating that the time is ripe to exercise their power, Maongkaba appealed to the electorates to put their trust in him in order to take a forward step.
Besides, he also stressed his priorities on road connectivity, adequate water supply, uplift of women, widows and old age pension schemes, alternate energy and various other programmes for the constituency.
Maongkaba Ozukum will contest against Tongpang Ozukum of NDPP and K Wati of Independent from 24 Angetyongpang AC.
