Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): The Mao Union Senapati together with women and youth numbering around 200 extended moral support and provided refreshments to the Nagas, who were evacuated from Imphal, at Senapati on Sunday at around 6 am.
An update from Mao Union Senapati state that its volunteers provided refreshment to about 1000 people in around 30 vehicles, mostly buses, accompanied by police personnel.
It also mentioned that food for the mission team was arranged by the Manipur Baptist Convention Centre (MBCC), Imphal, through the initiative of Rev. K Losu, executive secretary of MBC, but could not be materialised due to the security protocols.
In a similar event, the volunteers of Mao Students’ Union (MSU) and Mao Naga Women’s Welfare Association (MNWWA) received the evacuees of the team ‘Rescue Mission’ of Nagaland state government just around the bend of ‘Martyrs Memorial’ between Tadubi and Mao gate and offered refreshments (food packages).
Meanwhile, the Mao Council Senapati has thanked all who have joined hands in the humanitarian service.
