Manipur observes International day of older persons

Imphal, Oct. 22 (EMN): Free health check-up and yoga demonstration marked International day of Older Persons in Manipur on Saturday. The observation was held at Health and Wellness Centres, Thokchom Bengi in Thoubal district under the aegis of District Health Society Thoubal.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Y Nokul Singh of Thoubal district said, “We should treat our parents and older people with love and care. We must remember the contributions given to society by them.”

Dr. Nokul also appealed to the public to bring their parents and older persons to the government health care facilities and take regular medical checkups and use the diagnostic facilities available. Ch Basanta of District Health Society Thoubal and other officials were also present during the observation. As part of the function, blankets were also distributed to the older persons of the locality.
