Manipur CM inaugurates hostels in Imphal

Imphal, Mar. 6 (EMN): Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Mar. 5 inaugurated the girls and boys hostels of 150 capacity each at Khuman Lampak in Imphal and Imphal Planetarium at Manipur Science Centre, Takyelpat, in Imphal West.
Speaking on the occasion, Biren said that each individual/ people should become a ‘model’ for bringing positive change in the state and make a better Manipur. On the occasion, Biren also informed that the President of India Ramnath Kovind has declared Manipur as “Sports capital of India.”
Biren has also stressed on the need to maintain quality at the National Sports University for producing good sportspersons in the state.
He also informed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting the state for the inauguration of the 105th Indian Science Congress to be held at Imphal on March 16. Prime Minister was likely to lay foundation stone for National Sports University in the state, he added. He also mentioned that the Union home minister Rajnath Singh would also be visiting the state to attend the first anniversary celebration which falls on March 15. The Union home minister would inaugurate the Integrated Check Post located at Moreh. The government has already identified about 116 projects/schemes to be inaugurated on the occasion of ‘Inauguration Fortnight’ in the state.
