Imphal, Oct. 22 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh has suspended former MLA Laishram Radhakishore Singh from the primary membership of the party for a period of six years.
The suspension order issued by BJP Manipur president, A Sharda Devi on October 20,2022 said, “In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the party constitution for violation of the party’s Rules and Regulations under Article XXV. Breach of discipline Clause (c) and (f), I do hereby suspend L Radhakishore Singh, Ex-MLA of Oinam Mandal from the primary membership of the party for six years with immediate effect”.
The specific reason for the suspension of the former MLA of the Oinam assembly constituency in Manipur’s Bishnupur district was also mentioned clearly in the order. However, people familiar with the development suspected an internal tussle following a recent petition by former MLA challenging a government order over the appointment of a sitting MLA as new chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board(MPCB).It may be mentioned that former MLA Radhakishore was appointed chairman of the board in 2017.
