Makuilongdi Khuan Choir releases debut audio-visual album

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s young as 2-year-old choir released its debut audio-visual album titled “Aruangbo Rengmun” meaning “Assembly Gate” on 25th May at Samjiuram village, Jalukie. More than 1,000 people in Liangmai church witnessed Rev. H.M. Gonmei, Executive Secretary, Rongmei Baptist Association, Nagaland releasing the album. Makuilongdi Khaun means “The Voice of Makuidongdi ( 1st Zeliangrong village after the dispersal from Makhel)”.
The album consist of both hymnal and composed songs in Liangmai (Zeliang). Inspiring testimonial songs that have touched many people during the 44-member choir tours are also included with English subtitles. For non-Liangmai-speaking audiences, except for two songs, English subtitles are attached. The audios have received positive feedbacks. The current is expecting even more.
Choir Director, Kawirangbo Pamai says, “The choir was set up to remind our people, especially the young ones, of our rich tradition and culture and to stay connected to God. It started off with five members each from five churches in Jalukie valley. In a short while, more members joined from Kohima town, Tening and Dimapur areas so every time we need to practise, we decide well in advance about the time and place to meet.”
