In a small way to educate the students on the significance of World Environment Day and inculcate in them the essence of environment, N. Nagi School Dimapur celebrated its first World Environment Day in its school premises on Monday.

The fun began when each of the children were given saplings and implanted them as a mark of observing the day with their theme “Protecting the environment”.
N. Nagi School Administrator Pete Nagi said the idea behind implanting the saplings by the children themselves was to make them aware of the essence of observing the day so that they have a better call and have hands on experience towards environment as they grow.

“The connection with nature is missing especially among the present generation as everyone is tied up with gadgets and the relation with nature has cut-off” conveyed Nagi.

To make them aware of environment in line with nature, the main idea of the school is to convey the message of taking responsibility together with the rest of the world in protecting the environment, added Nagi.
