Make foothill road ‘pliable’ during winter season, NFHRCC asks Patton
Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): A team of Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) met with Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton in Kohima on December 5 and apprised him of the urgent need to ensure that the foothill road is ‘pliable, at least’ during the winter season.
The committee issued a press release on Monday informing that Patton was “very positive” and assured them to direct the department concerned to “explore the ground reality at the earliest”.
The deputy chief minister also told the delegation that he will consult with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as well “since it will require additional budgetary involvement”, it stated.
In this regard, the NFHRCC has convened an emergency meeting on December 9 at 3 pm at its base office in Khermahal, Dimapur. It has requested all its tribal representatives to attend the meeting.
