DIMAPUR — Act of Kindness Society is set to organise the eighth edition of Magnum Opus on October 25 at Green Park, Chümoukedima district.
A press note mentioned that the festival is being organised to commemorate International Artist Day. It intends to bring local artists and art lovers from all over the state together and provide a platform to exhibit their craftsmanship.
The art and music festival this year will include an art competition, a photography competition, a startup pitch competition, and an original song competition. There will be a registration fee for participation.
The painting competition has an open category where participants can choose any theme they want, and the prizes are INR 12,000 (first) and INR 6,000 (second). There is also a junior category for ages 11–17 with the theme ‘Landscape of Nagaland’. The junior category prizes are INR 8,000 (first) and INR 4,000 (second).
The first prize in the photography competition is INR 7,000, the second prize is INR 5,000, and the third prize is INR 3,000.
The startup pitch competition will be held in partnership with the Educentre School of Business, and the prizes for it are INR 15,000 (first) and INR 10,000 (second). Also, the winners will each receive an incubation programme from the Educentre School of Business.
The original singing competition prize for the winner is INR 10,000, along with an audio contract from LKR Music Records, a video contract from Supong AI Photography, a direct nomination for the Music Awards of Nagaland 2024, and a paid performance at the Music Awards finale 2023 in November.
There will be an earrings workshop by Zaben Murry where all materials will be provided and participants get to keep the items they make. There will also be a calligraphy workshop by Nenti Kez, where all materials will be provided, and a pottery workshop by Artsy Naga.
