Luthur village guards celebrate golden jubilee

Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): Village Guard of Luthur village under Pungro sub-division in Kiphire district celebrated its golden jubilee on November 28 at Luthur village with the deputy commandant of village guard of Kiphire, E Wamei Konyak, as the special guest.

Speaking on the theme “Honouring the selfless past,” the special guest encouraged the village guards to render their valuable services towards the cause of the peoples. He also saluted them for their act of bravery and courageous and in rendering their service to call of duty. He also called upon the village guards to maintain peace and security in order to bring development in the region.

The special guest also unveiled the jubilee monolith.

Others who spoke at the function included Shellumthong, former vice president of YTC; S Kiusumew Yimchungru, president PFPSD; T Shilimthong, executive chairman of YTC; JB Shahoto, president of PSGU; K Asetsu, assistant commandant of Pungro; and Y Kiuso, chairman of Luthur village council.
