DIMAPUR —Along with the rest of the world, Longleng and Zunheboto districts in Nagaland also observed World Hypertension Day on the theme ‘Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it, live longer.’
In Longleng district, the day was observed at Yachem CHC and Yongnyah PHC, an update from CMO office Longleng informed.
Dr. Lenpichang, DPO, NCD Longleng, sensitised the public on hypertension and advised everyone to maintain normal body weight, to exercise regularly and also to maintain healthy diet. He also spoke about the risk factors associated with high blood pressure, the key facts of hypertension, its symptoms, prevention and treatment. Lenpichang further advised everyone present to regularly check their blood pressure.
After the formal programme, the patients checked their blood pressure and sugar levels and were given counseling by Dr. Visino Nakhro, MO at Ayush Yachem CHC.
World Hypertension Day was observed in all the health units under Longleng district.
In Zunheboto, World Hypertension Day was observed at the DC’s conference hall with Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali as the special guest.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, EAC (Sadar), L Chinglem Konyak congratulated the awardees and also encouraged them by saying that the award could also be acknowledged at the state and higher levels if the health workers continue to dedicate themselves towards their assigned tasks with more sincerity at their respective levels, a DIPR report stated.
The awardees include Menuovonuo, Yizano Odyuo (GNM, NCD clinic) and Pulotoli Sumi (counsellor, NCD clinic) from Hezakhu Memorial District Hospital.
The Asha workers who were awarded are Toli Yepthomi (co-ordinator Zunheboto), Lhotoli (Shoipu/Satakha block), Vikhuli (Lazami/Pughoboto block), Shihuli (Aghunato B/Aghunato block), Akheli Aye (Surumi/Suruhuto block), Tovisheli (Surumi/Suruhuto block), Khenili (Lotisa/Akuluto block) and Kughatoli P (Atoizu block).
The community health officers who also received award on the occasion are Sevikhonu Tsukru (Litami HWC), Noyingbeni Erui (Lotisami HWC), Mughavili (Chishilimi HWC), Holika Swu (Asukiqa HWC), Tenna Achumi (Lazami HWC), Sentitoula (Surumi HWC), Nzanbeni Odyuo ( Naltoqa HWC), Aneinuo (Hebolimi HWC), Imlijungla (Shitsumi), Atshele (Kivikhu HWC), Bisenu (Asukhuto HWC), Tokheli Wotsa (Akuhaito HWC).
At the community health centres, the awardees are Dr. Kerekugumle (SMO/CHC, Pughoboto) and Limugjha Dominica (GNM/CHC, Pughoboto).
The awardees at the primary health centres are Dr. Vini Swu (MO/Ighanumi PHC), Khevili Sema (GNM/Ighanumi PHC), Jelito Sumi (staff nurse/Ighanumi PHC) and Ghovili Swu (ANM/Ighanumi PHC).
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation by pastor of ZTLBC, Lankonsen Tsanglao, while Keynote address and vote of thanks were delivered by DPO (NCD), Zunheboto, Mhonchan Kithan and BPM, Sadar Block Zunheboto, Valerie Kiba, respectively.
