DIMAPUR — The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) on Sunday stated that a definite decision on whether it would support the PDA consensus candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha poll would only come about, after consultations with the party rank and file.

Responding to a letter from the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) president, copies of which were shared with the media on Sunday, the LJP (RV) stated it would consult party workers and come to a decision after thoroughly assessing the ‘larger interest.’

“Therefore, I hope the NDPP leadership shall appreciate the position of LJP (RV) as the party initiates to work on inclusive democratic decision within, at the earliest,” the letter read.

On March 2, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) had announced that the party ticket for the lone Parliamentary seat of Nagaland had been awarded to Dr. Chumben Murry.

Notably, the LJP (RV) has two MLAs in the opposition-less PDA government, Dr. Sukhato Sema and Naiba Konyak.
