Nagaland: LJP (RV) submits letter of support to Rio-led NDPP-BJP alliance

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidates who won in the recently held general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Monday submitted a letter of support to Neiphiu Rio-led NDPP-BJP alliance which is all set to form the next government in the state.

The two LJP (RV) winning candidates are Dr. Sukhato A Sema, from 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency (AC) and Naiba Konyak from 55 Tobu AC.

According to sources from the LJP (RV) candidates, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance has not given any commitment for their conclusion in the new government which will be officially in place after the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday.

The LJP (RV) managed to win two seats out of 15 it contested in the recent state assembly election.

The party had claimed during its election campaigns that it would be in NDPP-BJP alliance government while the NDPP and BJP leaders repeatedly clarified that it wouldn’t entertain any other political parties in the formation of the new government in the state.
